(NEXSTAR) — Another Powerball drawing, another increase for the jackpot. No tickets were able to match the six numbers drawn Saturday night, pushing the jackpot to another near-record level.

While Saturday’s numbers – 1, 28, 31, 57, 58, and red Powerball 16 – did not produce a jackpot winner, it did make seven tickets worth at least $1 million.

With no jackpot winner, however, the Powerball grand prize has grown to an estimated $1.1 billion, with a cash value of $503.4 million, ahead of Monday night’s drawing. (That’s almost enough to cover what it would cost to guarantee a jackpot win.)

At that size, the Powerball jackpot ranks as the sixth-largest in game history, slightly behind the $1.326 billion prize won by a man battling cancer in Oregon last year.

  1. $2.04 billion: Nov. 7, 2022; California
  2. $1.787 billion: Sept. 6, 2025; Missouri, Texas
  3. $1.765 billion: Oct. 11, 2023; California
  4. $1.586 billion: Jan. 13, 2016; California, Florida, Tennessee
  5. $1.326 billion: April 6, 2024; Oregon
  6. Est. $1.1 billion: Current
  7. $1.08 billion: July 19, 2023; California
  8. $842.4 million: Jan. 1, 2024; Michigan
  9. $768.4 million: March 27, 2019; Wisconsin
  10. $758.7 million: Aug. 23, 2017; Massachusetts

It also stands as the 12th-largest across both Powerball and Mega Millions, just below a $1.128 billion Mega Millions jackpot won in New Jersey last year.

According to Powerball officials, there were dozens of tickets sold for Saturday’s drawing that came within one number of winning the jackpot.

Sixty-one tickets matched four of the five white numbers drawn, plus the red Powerball. Most of those secured a prize of $50,000. The twelve tickets that included the optional Power Play feature, which was 2X in Saturday’s drawing, are worth $100,000.

Seven other tickets matched the five white numbers drawn, but missed the red Powerball. Five of those tickets – sold in California, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, and Virginia – are now worth $1 million (though the California player may receive much more).

Two tickets, one each sold in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, had the optional Power Play, making them worth $2 million.

Even if you didn’t win $1 million, your ticket may still be worth something. In Saturday’s drawing alone, more than 1.5 million tickets matched only the red Powerball, winning $4 (another 390,000 had the Power Play feature for a cool $8). You can check your numbers here.

This is the second time the Powerball jackpot has surpassed $1 billion this year. In September, two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion prize, the second-largest in game history.

Your odds of winning any prize while playing Powerball are 1 in 24.87. The odds are substantially worse for winning the jackpot: 1 in about 292.2 million.

Should you overcome the odds, experts suggest keeping your victory a secret for as long as possible — something that may be impossible, depending on where you live. It’s also encouraged that you build a team of experts around you, including a financial advisor, a tax advisor, and a lawyer.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET. The lottery game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets are $2 each, with the Power Play option available in participating states for $1 more.
