(NewsNation) — President Trump’s administration is getting a head start on trying to build the next generation of government technology.

The administration announced it has launched a recruiting effort for a new two-year program called “Tech Force.”

“Backed by the White House, Tech Force will tackle the most complex and large-scale civic and defense challenges of our era from administering critical financial infrastructure at the Treasury Department to advancing cutting-edge programs at the Department of Defense and everything in between,” the program’s website said.

Those who participate in the program will work in teams reporting directly to agency leadership. They will also receive technical training, engage with industry leaders and work closely with senior managers from companies partnering with the Tech Force.

“Tech Force will primarily recruit early-career technologists from traditional recruiting channels, along with experienced engineering managers from private sector partners, to serve two-year employment terms in the federal government,” Tech Force’s website added.

After completing the program, engineers can seek employment with the partnering private-sector companies for potential full-time roles.

Tech Force said the recruiting process includes an initial application, a background check, a technical assessment and potential interviews with agency leadership.

The program’s positions will be located in Washington, D.C., and pay $150,000 to $200,000.
