(FOX40.COM)— TikTok is releasing new tools to build transparency around artificial intelligence, including accessibility for users to manage AI-generated content they see in their “For You” feeds.

TikTok users will soon see an AI-generated content control feature under “manage topics,” which already allows users to adjust how often they see content related to over 10 categories. With this new feature, users can control how much or how little AI-generated content they see on TikTok.

The app is also testing “invisible watermarking” to let viewers and creators know if content is AI-generated or using AI tools. TikTok said that since testing this new feature, over 1.3 billion videos have been labeled.

In part of the app’s mission to create awareness of AI, TikTok launched a $2 million AI literacy fund for experts to create feed content that teaches users about AI literacy and safety.

This follows a similar move by Pinterest after the platform received complaints that AI was impacting its quality. In the announcement, TikTok said, “These updates are part of our wider work to safeguard and empower positive experiences with AI.”
