Thousands of users report problems with Spotify music streaming app

(NewsNation) — Thousands of users reported outages across Spotify on Wednesday morning.

The music streaming service confirmed the outage in a social media post at 8:45 a.m. EDT, stating, “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!”

Spotify later released more details, stating, “We’re aware of the outage and working to resolve it as soon as possible. The reports of this being a security hack are false.”

Downdetector showed a spike in outages worldwide.

As of 11:45 a.m. EDT, it was unclear what was causing the outages or when users could expect service to return.
