(NewsNation) — Grok, the AI chatbot in Elon Musk’s X, is drawing criticism for generating sexualized images of women and children prompted by X users.

Multiple users on the social media platform reported that their photos were being digitally altered to show them and others wearing a bikini or explicit clothing, doing the same thing with images of minors. Ashley St. Clair, conservative influencer and the mother of one of Musk’s children, told The Washington Post she fell victim to a deepfake image from Grok.

On Friday, the chatbot responded and apologized to one user who called out the feature, saying it was “urgently fixing” the holes in its system. Grok also included a link to CyberTipline, a website where people can report child sexual exploitation.

Musk later took to X on Saturday addressing the allegations, warning users of the consequences of using Grok for those reasons.

“Anyone using Grok to make illegal content will suffer the same consequences as if they upload illegal content,” Musk wrote.

According to CNBC, authorities in Europe, India and Malaysia are investigating the platform regarding the allegations
