(KTLA) – McDonald’s famous Boo Buckets are making a return just in time for Halloween.

The Boo Buckets, a customer-favorite which doubles as a trick-or-treating bucket, comes with Happy Meals. The company will introduce a blue bucket this year, replacing last year’s purple one.

Customers can customize their buckets with themed sticker sets. McDonald’s first debuted the Boo Buckets in 1986. The limited-time buckets were a staple during the Halloween season before they vanished from 2016 to 2022.

The announcement was met with excitement on social media, but some Boo Bucket fans expressed disappointment at this year’s models.

“You need to give out the hard lids!” one person wrote on X. “I still have mine from the 90s.”

“Please please please … Lids next year!” wrote another.

The Boo Buckets will make their return to McDonald’s locations nationwide beginning on Oct. 15.
