(NewsNation) — Forensic expert Jake Green believes it is concerning that almost three minutes of footage were cut from the source video near Jeffrey Epstein’s cell the night before he was found dead in 2019.

Three successive administrations, including the current Trump administration, have repeatedly said Epstein committed suicide by hanging himself in his jail cell.

The newly released surveillance video outside Epstein’s cell was supposed to prove once and for all that nobody went in or out of his cell on his last night alive.

But new forensic analysis shows the video was not “raw video” as the DOJ insists, but instead edited video that may have been manipulated.

WIRED reported that the final cut was two video clips that were stitched together, and nearly three minutes were missing from one of the two videos.

“There’s so many issues with this video, the minutes missing, the jumps. We can sometimes see a cursor move. … There’s so many pieces wrong with this video, and for the DOJ to release it, it’s strange, and it’s kind of unnerving to know that this is the way they want to do this,” Green told “Banfield.”

Green believes the video released by the Justice Department to the public was a screen capture in other words, a copy of a video.

“Somebody went in with some type of software to actually record what the screen was showing,” Green explained.

“It may be reliable as to what was on the screen, but it cannot be confirmed to match what was originally recorded. So I think that’s really what we’re seeing here, it truly is the work product of the FBI going in and attempting to change and alter, and perhaps try to enhance the video. But it’s clearly not the original.”
