This week marks 31 years since the double murder that launched the modern true crime era. Before June 1994, most Americans had never heard the names Nicole Brown Simpson or Ron Goldman. That changed overnight when police found their bodies outside Simpson’s Los Angeles home. The case became the biggest tabloid story of its time and laid the groundwork for the nonstop true crime coverage we see today. NewsNation’s “Banfield” explores the case in “True Crime Rewind.”
