The House Oversight Committee will hear testimony Wednesday morning from Minnesota state lawmakers centered on fraud concerns within the state’s social services programs.

Witnesses in the first hearing include GOP state Reps. Kristin Robbins, Walter Hudson and Marion Rarick. Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), chair of the committee, has also invited Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) to testify on Feb. 10.

The Trump administration and Republicans have ramped up their scrutiny of fraud within programs under the Minnesota Department of Human Services (MDHS) since conservative YouTuber Nick Shirley released a video detailing his visits to child care facilities in Minneapolis.

Walz has pushed back against pressure to withdraw aid because of the scandal but has opted not to run for reelection.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
