(WPRI) — Above-ground pools that were sold at The Home Depot, Lowe’s and online through Amazon, Walmart and Wayfair are being recalled due to drowning hazard concerns.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said the recall affects Blue Wave brand pools that are 48 inches and taller. The compression strap around the outside of the pool could offer a foothold for a child to climb into the pool, even if there is no ladder, according to the recall notice.
The pools were sold nationwide between January 2021 and July 2025.
Anyone who bought one of the recalled pools should contact Blue Wave for a free repair kit at (800) 603-0475.
Consumers with the pools are advised to either drain the water from them and/or to remain extra vigilant with children while waiting for the repair kit.
