(NewsNation) — Tyler Perry is facing a second sexual assault lawsuit in recent months after an actor in one of his movies sued the filmmaker.

Mario Rodriguez, who appeared in a minor role in Perry’s 2016 movie “Boo! A Madea Halloween,” filed a lawsuit Thursday, alleging that Perry sexually assaulted him and repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances over the years.

Rodriguez wants $77 million and has also sued Lionsgate, which distributed the movie, accusing the studio of ignoring Perry’s alleged misconduct.

After the actor was cast in Perry’s film, the complaint alleges he was invited to Perry’s home, where Perry allegedly touched him inappropriately while watching a movie. Similar incidents occurred, the lawsuit alleges, in 2016, 2018 and 2019. One encounter included Perry allegedly attempting to unbuckle Rodriguez’s pants and another in which Perry placed Rodriguez’s hands on his genitals.

Rodriguez said he decided to sue after hearing of similar allegations made by actor Derek Dixon, who sued Perry in June. The two actors have the same lawyer.

“Having recently failed in another matter against Mr. Perry, the very same lawyer has now made yet another demand from more than a decade ago, which will also be a failed money grab,” Perry’s attorney, Alex Spiro, told People Magazine.
