(NewsNation) — Over 74 million Americans receive Social Security benefits, and they may be looking ahead to 2026, wondering when they will receive their payments.
Your payment date is determined by your birthday. Those born on the 1st through 10th of the month will get their benefits on the second Wednesday of every month. Those born on the 11th through 20th will get their benefits on the third Wednesday of every month. And those born on the 21st through 31st will get their benefits on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
Some people receive Supplemental Security Income in addition to Social Security checks. SSI dates vary.
Those who received Social Security before May 1997 or those who receive both Social Security and SSI will receive their Social Security benefits on the 3rd of every month and SSI on the 1st.
