(NewsNation) — Howard Stern is staying at the place he’s called home for nearly 20 years.
The longtime radio host has renewed his contract with SiriusXM, according to the satellite radio company, keeping “The Howard Stern Show” on air through 2028.
“I’m happy to announce that I’ve figured out a way to have it all: more free time and continuing to be on the radio. So, yes, we’re coming back for three years,” Stern told co-host Robin Quivers. “Thanks to the good folks here at SiriusXM, I was able to create a more flexible schedule … So, we’ll be back!”
Rumors circulated over the summer that the show would be canceled after two decades, with sources telling The Sun in August that SiriusXM would offer a contract Stern wasn’t expected to take.
It’s unclear how much he’ll earn under the new contract, which is shorter than his previous renewals.

He later joined SiriusXM, signing a massive $500 million contract with the subscription-based satellite radio company in 2004.
SiriusXM has seen tremendous growth in the years since Stern joined, and he has been credited with helping the company grow its subscriber base, according to Insider Radio.
Stern’s contract was renewed for five years for $500 million in 2020, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Stern earns about $333,000 per show.
