(NewsNation) — After a whirlwind week for President Donald Trump, he will head from Washington, D.C. to Baltimore Saturday afternoon to attend the 126th Army-Navy game at M&T Bank Stadium, where protests are expected.
His attendance comes after his heavy criticism of the Democratic-led city, where he says crime is out of control. That has caused him to clash with city leaders and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, who says that Baltimore is actually improving its crime rates.
Trump, though, has threatened to send in National Guard troops to crack down on crime, a method he’s employed in several other Democratic cities, like Chicago and Los Angeles.
Both leaders are expected to attend the game, which is rooted in a tradition that dates back to 1901. This is Trump’s sixth time attending the football game as either president or president-elect.
Meanwhile, Trump is facing controversies back in D.C., as Democratic lawmakers are working hard to keep the Jeffrey Epstein case in the spotlight, raising questions about the president’s apparent relationship with the convicted sex trafficker.
On Friday, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released some new photos from the Epstein estate, with some showing Trump and Epstein together. Some photos also included former President Bill Clinton, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon and entrepreneur Bill Gates. The commander-in-chief has dismissed those photos, saying it’s “no big deal.”
