(NewsNation) — Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy had seemingly upset Bill Belichick’s girlfriend after he slammed the head coach after the University of North Carolina’s Tar Heels lost to Wake Forest last weekend.

On a recent episode of his “Barstool Pick Em” podcast, Portnoy, 48, said that Jordon Hudson, 24, direct messaged him on X after he questioned the mental faculties of the 73-year-old Belichick.

“Watching UNC is so frustrating. It’s like an alien stole Belichick’s brain. Just horribly coached. Horrible decisions,” Portnoy, 48, wrote on Saturday, November 15, in the closing minutes of North Carolina’s 28-12 loss at Wake Forest. “Belichick needs to retire. This is disgusting. I’m not even sure he knows the score or where he is.”

“I got a thumbs-down from her. I got a DM, just a thumbs-down,” Portnoy said Wednesday. “I didn’t send her nothing. … She DM’d me a thumbs-down.”

The Patriots fired Belichick after the 2023 season.

Following his ouster from the Patriots, Belichick decided to enter the world of college football.

He signed a $50 million, five-year contract to become the head coach for the Tar Heels.
