(NewsNation) — A neurologist has reportedly determined Wendy Williams does not have frontotemporal dementia, in what could be a breakthrough for the former talk show host.
Williams has been in a controversial court-ordered guardianship since May 2022, as conversations continue to circulate about her health. In 2022, Sabrina Morrissey was appointed Williams’ conservator.
According to TMZ, Williams was provided with the results last month after a series of tests in New York City.
Williams’ legal representatives will reportedly file documents with the court within the next two weeks. Should the guardianship not be ended by the court, her attorney Joe Tacopina is expected to “demand a jury trial.”
In August, Tacopina joined “Banfield” and disputed that Williams had been diagnosed with rontotemporal dementia.
He joined the program following a leak, which Tacopina alleged came from Williams’ guardian, saying the celebrity did have dementia.
Tacopina described the supposed leaked medical report as a “lie” and called it a “disgrace.”
“Where is this report when no one’s seen the report because it’s not accurate? She hasn’t completed her medical diagnosis. I’ve spoken to her guardianship,” he said.
