PARMA, Ohio (WJW) — A school transport van caught fire Tuesday afternoon, and initial reports to local firefighters in Ohio indicated special-needs occupants were trapped inside.
Police officers, who were first on scene, made sure the occupants were out, directed traffic and started attacking the fire until firefighters arrived and “quickly extinguished” it, according to a social media post.
“This was a great example of the teamwork between Parma Police and Fire,” reads the post. “We want to commend the efforts of the PPD members yesterday afternoon for their quick actions that ensured all the occupants made it out safely.”
