Cher Hwang is a journalist and host of NewsNation’s gaming podcast “Gamer Galaxy” where she dives into the culture, news, and stories shaping the industry.
Growing up between South Korea and the U.S., Cher was immersed in video games early on, thanks to her father, an early tech adopter who made sure she and her brother were always playing on the latest systems. From PC cafés in Seoul to consoles in Chicago, gaming has been a constant in her life, fueling her curiosity about how games connect people, influence culture, and shape the digital world we live in today.
Outside of the gaming podcast, she writes, produces, and fact-checks daily national news. Before NewsNation, she worked at local stations in rural Nebraska, Colorado Springs, Denver, and Chicago. She helped launch both news and lifestyle shows and produced award-winning broadcasts.
