CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10)– 23 years ago, Audrey May Herron left work in Catskill around 11 p.m. Herron and her black 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with a New York license plate X233UV, haven’t been seen since.
She was last seen on August 29, 2002, leaving the Columbia Greene Long Term Health Care Facility, where she worked as a part-time nurse. The 31-year-old mother of three was reported missing by her family the next morning.
New York State Police investigators said Herron was wearing dark green medical scrubs and a blue turtleneck when she disappeared. An investigation into her disappearance remains ongoing.
Investigators said she left the facility and headed west on State Route 23. After her disappearance, investigators searched the 12-mile stretch from her job to her house and has continued to follow any leads.
In 2022, Herron’s oldest daughter Sonsia Court told NEWS10 they remain hopeful.
“She has a new investigator on her case that’s really looking into things, so that keeps us hopeful that maybe something will come about,” Court said.
In 2016, investigators followed a lead that brought them to Cauterskill Road in Catskill. They excavated some ground and drained a pond, but the search came up empty.
In May 2022, State Police sent divers to search three bodies of water in Greene County, including the Catskill Creek, but that search came up empty-handed as well. A few months later in September 2022, Adventures with Purpose, a dive-team dedicated to closing missing persons cases, joined the effort in locating Herron.
The team searched a variety of waterways located between Greene County and Albany County, but were unsuccessful also.
At the time of her disappearance, she was described as:

- Height: 5’0”
- Weight: 105 pounds
- She was born on October 4, 1970
- She would be 54 years old today
