(NewsNation) — “Stranger Things” star Mille Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi have adopted a baby girl, their first child.

The young pair, Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, announced the addition to their family in an Instagram post on Thursday: “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”

The actress and Bongiovi, who is legendary rocker’s Jon Bon Jovi’s son, first started dating in 2021. The two wed in a secret ceremony in May 2024, according to People.

Brown appeared on the “Smartless” podcast in March and said she couldn’t wait to become a mother.

“My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake,” she said. “Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”

She added that she and Bongiovi were planning to have a big family, People reports.

“I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but, for me, I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting.”
