(NewsNation) — Police in Massachusetts are searching for a pregnant woman who has been missing for a week.

Kylee Monteiro, 18, was last seen on Aug. 7 in Rehoboth, about 50 miles from Boston, according to local authorities.

A friend of Monteiro’s expressed concern for her safety and said their last conversation felt troubling.

“She was like ‘I don’t feel safe right now something’s not right.’ I tried talking with her after that, and she just stopped responding to me after that,” the friend, who was not identified, told local outlet WCVB. “I just want her to know that like, we miss you, and we’re not going to stop trying to find you.”

Monteiro’s sister, Faith Monteiro, told NewsNation affiliate WPRI that Monteiro is 11 weeks pregnant and recently graduated from Attleboro High School.

“We love her, we miss her and we just want her to come home,” Faith Monteiro said.

Several crews, including a K-9 unit and a dive team, have searched through wooded areas, a nearby pond and homes in the area where Monteiro went missing, WPRI reported.

Monteiro’s friend Sofia Cordeiro told WPRI the two usually talk every day, and that it was “unusual” for her not to have her phone.

“I just want her to know we miss you, and we’re not going to stop trying to find you,” Cordiero said.

Monteiro is described as 6 feet tall, with light brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a red T-shirt that said “Get Over It,” ripped blue jeans and tan boots. Police said she may be carrying a white bag with her belongings inside.

Anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area is asked to contact the Rehoboth Police Department at (508) 252-3722.
