(NewsNation) — Prince Harry has denied a new book’s claims that he got into a physical fight with his uncle, Prince Andrew, over comments made behind his back. 

The book, “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York” by royal biographer Andrew Lownie, claimed the royals were involved in a physical altercation at a 2013 family gathering over “something Andrew said behind Harry’s back,” according to The Independent.  

Prince Andrew insulted Meghan, book claims 

The book says “Harry got the better of Andrew” and left his uncle with a “bloody nose” following the remark, according to the outlet.  

Lownie also alleges Andrew called Harry’s wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, an “opportunist” and that their marriage wouldn’t “last more than a month.”  

Harry and Meghan have been married since 2018.  

Prince Harry taking legal action over ‘gross inaccuracies’  

“I can confirm neither of those things are true. Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry,” a spokesperson for Harry told People magazine in a statement.  

Harry’s team is planning to take legal action over the book’s claims.  

“Such are the gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory remarks made in the Daily Mail’s story, I can confirm a legal letter from Prince Harry’s counsel has been sent to the Mail,” his team said.  

While Harry denied the fight with his uncle, he previously admitted in his 2023 autobiography “Spare” that he fought with his brother, Prince William, over his relationship with Meghan.  

“(William) called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor,” Harry wrote.  

‘Entitled’ looks into Andrew’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein 

“Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York” explores the intertwined lives of Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah, the Duchess of York. It also delves into Andrew’s relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to Amazon.  

In January, emails published in court documents from the United Kingdom’s Financial Conduct Authority showed Andrew was in contact with Epstein after claiming he ended their friendship in 2010, according to the BBC.    

In a February 2011 email, Andrew reportedly wrote to Epstein, “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!!!!” 

Epstein died by suicide in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial.
