(NewsNation) — Carma HoldCo has launched a $10 million lawsuit alleging that the concept for Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer” brand was stolen by two former employees.

In a lawsuit filed in Chicago federal court this week, Carma HoldCo accuses its former president and former chief legal and licensing officer of poaching Hogan by using its ideas for the recently deceased World Wrestling Entertainment star’s beer brand.

Carma HoldCo is a holding company that works with celebrities to license their image to create products and brands. According to Bloomberg Law, the lawsuit claims that Carma HoldCo had entered an agreement with Hogan in 2023 to act as a brand ambassador and had begun developing a Hogan-branded “Real American” beer.

The company alleges that the two former employees ultimately took the business plans and designs to secure their own partnership with the wrestler, noting that this was a violation of state and federal trade secrets. Carma HoldCo is reportedly seeking $10 million in damages.

According to the beer brand’s website, it officially launched in June 2024, is available in 20 states and has since gone on to become an official partner of WWE.

This is the second lawsuit this year involving Hogan’s beer brand. NewsNation local affiliate WJW reports that in February, a woman in Ohio launched a lawsuit against Hogan and unnamed promoters after she was hit in the head by a can of the beer at a promotional event.
