(NewsNation) — The senior aides to Prince Harry and King Charles were seen meeting in London this past weekend, sparking possible reconciliation rumors between the father and son.

The Daily Mail obtained photos showing Meredith Maines, Harry’s chief communications officer, with Tobyn Andreae, Charles’ communications secretary, at a private club near Buckingham Palace.

The secret gathering comes after Harry — fifth in line to the throne — said he wants to reconcile with his family during an interview months ago. Harry and Charles have had issues since the former lost his appeal against His Majesty’s government’s decision to abandon his publicly funded security detail.

“There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” said Harry. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. But it would be nice to reconcile.”

In addition, the turmoil between the two extends to Harry and his wife, Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, after they planned on taking a step back as senior members of the royal family in 2020.

For years, Harry has challenged both his security detail and tabloid and newspaper publishers for supposedly hacking phones and employing private investigators to snoop on his life for stories.
