(NewsNation) — The San Francisco Unified School District delayed its “grading for equity” plan after it was met with major backlash. Some components of the initiative include: homework and weekly tests being excluded from final grades and changing the scoring system, converting any F to a C and any B to an A.
The San Francisco Voice writer John Trasviña, who broke the story about San Francisco’s changing education system, tells Blake Burman of “The Hill” that there needs to be lot more communication and the school district should involve parents more in the decision-making.
