(NewsNation) — A former U.S security official who informed his bosses about a UAP monitoring program was not taken seriously despite going through the proper whistleblower process, according to investigative journalist and podcast host Jeremy Corbell.

Corbell told NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas that after exhausting all the options he could, former national security official Matthew Brown had no choice but to go public.

Brown told Corbell that he stumbled upon an unacknowledged special access program called “Immaculate Constellation” that collected images and videos of UFO encounters from classified military servers. But when he decided to tell his bosses, the message was not well received, and no one seemed to act upon his warnings; instead, he was told to delete the files.

Whistleblower protection system failed: Former national security official

After this, Brown decided to seek whistleblower protection and submitted written testimony to Congress. Following several meetings with congressional liaisons, nothing happened, he told Corbell. That’s when Brown decided to speak out, saying the whistleblower protection system failed him at every step.

“This kid has done everything right, and he has not received the support that he should,” Corbell said.

“Congress has made a show of this, that they want whistleblowers to come forward. Well, here you go. Matthew Brown has inside knowledge of the deception of our government by elements of the intelligence community,” Corbell said.

“He has tried to raise the red flag, he has tried to tell me what’s going on, and he’s done everything in his power to do it the right way, and this was the best way to come forward to journalists like me,” he said.

Pentagon has a lot of photo, video evidence of UAPs: Journalist

Journalist Michael Shellenberger first reported on the program and told NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” that the Pentagon is “sitting on a significant body of photographic and video evidence” of UAPs and UFOs.

“What they’re saying is that the Pentagon, it’s not just a few of these little videos coming out in dribs and drabs,” Shellenberger said.

Videos he has seen reportedly show “orbs coming out of the ocean near Kuwait.” Congress has formed a task force on UAPs, but the published reports were heavily redacted.

“The UAP task force has collected a ‘redacted’ number of reports from this many — the number of years is redacted — and then potential explanations, they say it could be weather,” Shellenberger said.

‘An army of people are coming forward’: Podcaster

Corbell and Knapp have interviewed several whistleblowers who have new information about the unknown craft.

“We have already recorded with other firsthand whistleblowers that we have yet to release. So, I can promise you, people are coming forward, an army of people are coming forward,” Corbell said.

Corbell hopes that Brown will be allowed to testify before Congress about what he has discovered.

“We are talking thousands of videos and photos … that the American public hasn’t seen of these advanced craft we call UAP that are of unknown origin,” Corbell said.
