Hillsborough deputies catch ‘clown’ convict after pursuit

TAMPA. Fla. (WFLA) — A six-time convicted felon wearing a clown mask was arrested Tuesday after fleeing from a traffic stop, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they spotted a motorcycle with no license plate near Madison Avenue and 78th Street.

The driver of the motorcycle Antonio Williams, 36, was wearing a clown mask. Deputies said that when they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Williams refused and fled at a high speed.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Williams turned onto Trenton Street before abandoning his motorcycle and continuing to flee on foot.

Deputies pursued Williams and said they saw the masked man drop a black satchel into a nearby body of water.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office recovered the satchel which they said contained multiple types of narcotics and a stolen firearm.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office arrested Williams and have charged him with the following:

  • Reckless driving
  • Driving without a valid motorcycle license
  • Fleeing to elude at highspeeds
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Posession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Armed trafficking of fentanyl
  • Possession of cannabis
  • Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Trafficking in Amphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Tampering with physical evidence
