WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Early Sunday morning, 32 veterans boarded a plane from T.F. Green Airport to Washington, D.C., to take part in an Honor Flight to see monuments and memorials dedicated to their service.

Among them was Navy Veteran Will Barbeau, who NewsNation affiliate WPRI surprised with a free trip earlier this month.

WPRI military analyst Lt. Gen. (ret.) Reginald Centracchio and R.I. Veterans Services Director Kasim Yarn also traveled with the veterans.

The Rhode island Fire Chiefs Honor Flight Hub has flown about 1,000 Veterans to D.C. over the years.
