(NewsNation) — After months of mixed press, Disney’s remake of the iconic 1937 “Snow White” film has underwhelmed at the box office.

Disney has been dealing with the backlash almost since its announcement of the live-action version of “Snow White,” which has been deemed “woke.”

Disney’s ‘Snow White’ film receives low ratings

Studio estimates have the remake, released on March 21, opening with $43 million in ticket sales. It has extremely low ratings, initially receiving a 2.2/10 on IMDb and 43% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Beyond its unsuccessful revenue, NewsNation entertainment expert Paula Froelich reported there’s immense tension between the movie’s two co-stars, the liberal Palestinian supporter Rachel Zegler and Israeli queen Gal Gadot.

Rachel Zegler clear on political beliefs

Zegler is one of the most polarizing celebrities in Hollywood. She has been vocal about her political beliefs and has condemned the original “Snow White.”

Following President Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 election, she posted on Instagram: “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”

NewsNation has learned Zegler is “too dangerous to touch” according to a Hollywood insider, and has zero projects in the works besides heading up the West End production of “Evita” at the Palladium in London.
