(NewsNation) — Gabriel Ornelas, host of “Off Road Confidential,” says the NewsNation special in association with Visit California is the “ultimate California adventure.”

Ornelas discovered Sacramento’s rich history and culture talking to the farmers who cultivate the region’s produce.

This 30-minute special will take viewers on a virtual road trip to some of Northern California’s most picturesque places.

“It’s a love letter. It’s a postcard, a visual postcard, but really it’s an invitation for people to get out, explore, discover California,” Ornelas said on “Morning in America.”

Ornelas’ itinerary is packed with hidden gems — from food to fun for families, couples and even the solo traveler.

Hailing from Southern California, Ornelas told NewsNation the series was a chance for him to rediscover the magic of the Golden State.

“There are elements of the state that I’ve been to, but it was 15 years ago, 20 years ago,” Ornelas said. “I’ve evolved as an individual. I’ve grown a lot, and so to experience it in this way was so, so incredible.”

Ornelas also made pit stops in Point ReyesHalf Moon Bay, Carmel-by-the-sea and San Francisco on his journey.
