(NewsNation) — Beyoncé is not reading the room.
Queen Bey is acting more like Marie Antoinette every day, and her fans are getting real tired of it.
After announcing her “Cowboy Carter” tour — which, as I reported last week, isn’t selling well — she announced the launch of her new perfume, Celumiere, in an Instagram post this week. And beleaguered fans revolted in the comments.
Beyonce fans not impressed with perfume announcement
Of the 26,000 comments, the majority were brutal. Here are just a handful of what her fans are saying:
- ”Queen, I love you but haven’t you taken enough from me this week already?”
- ”You may not break our soul but you broke our wallets”
- ”Read the room, Beyoncé, we are broke!”
- ”Queen, who is ransoming Blue Ivy?
- ”At this point just give out jobs so people will be able to see you”
- ”Beyoncé said hand me your wallets girls and don’t ask for them back!”
- ”I seriously need you to figure out how to pay your bills without me”
- ”LMAO Beyoncé is really trying to bankrupt y’all this year.”
- ”Beyoncé, please. If you need more money, you’ll have to get a 9-5 like everyone else.”
- ”This is financial harassment.”
The anger didn’t stop at this post — and raged on in later posts this week Beyoncé made shilling the perfume as well her hair care line, Cecred.
Beyonce fans ‘did not like Cowboy Carter’: Insider
As a music industry insider told me last week: “Her fanbase did not like ‘Cowboy Carter’ — they were not impressed. They just blew their wad seeing her two years ago and in Taylor tickets… Bad economics right now.”
And to pour salt on the financial wound, as the economy and middle-class America reels, Beyoncé wants even more from fans who seemingly are exhausted.
