MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Five people were arrested Monday night after police say they blocked a downtown intersection with their dancing.

Police said they saw a 2016 Chevy Malibu stopped at a green light at South Second Street and Union Avenue and spotted four men twerking around the car and a one man dancing on the hood.

MeKell Sanders, 18, Rashaun Bryant, 22, Jordan Smith, 19, Mandre’Co Mays, 18, and Desmond Subbery, 18 were all charged with obstructing a highway or passageway.

According to the affidavit of complaint, the suspects were transported to jail so that the offense would not happen again.

Police said Smith also had a warrant for vandalism.

Smith’s bond was set at $2,100, and the others were released on their own recognizance. They are all scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
