OLDSMAR, Fla. (WFLA) — An Oldsmar woman has been arrested on allegations of infanticide, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said on Dec. 13, 2024, deputies responded to a home on Meriden Avenue after a 3-month-old became unresponsive.

Paramedics took the baby to a hospital where she later died.

However, detectives learned that the child suffered several brain bleeds and had a large fracture in her skull. The Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the baby died of blunt head trauma.

According to the sheriff’s office, the child’s mother, 26-year-old Tess Britt, was caring for her on the day when the injuries happened.

On March 6, 2025, detectives charged Britt with first-degree murder.
