(NewsNation) — One of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers stepped down Friday after discussions with lead counsel Marc Agnifilo.

In a motion filed in New York federal court, Anthony Ricco notified the judge in the case of his intent to withdraw.

Anthony Ricco did not give a specific reason for quitting, stating, “Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs, consistent with the ABA Stands for Criminal Justice.”

You can read the full motion at the bottom of the story.

What is Diddy facing in court?

Combs is currently in jail in New York state awaiting a criminal trial on federal sex trafficking charges. He is also facing many sexual assault lawsuits, many of which were filed by the plaintiff’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee. He says his firm is representing over 150 people, both men and women, who have alleged sexual abuse and exploitation by Combs.

Combs has continued to defend himself, even as more alleged victims come forward, according to USA Today. Despite these charges, Combs’ lawyers are saying his federal indictment is based on a “racist” law.

On Tuesday, Combs’ lawyers submitted a motion to dismiss the transportation to engage in prostitution charge against him, saying, “no white person has ever been the target of a remotely similar prosecution.”

Woman withdraws lawsuit against Diddy, Jay-Z

An Alabama woman who said she was raped by Combs and rapper Jay-Z when she was 13 years old withdrew the civil lawsuit against the men Friday, according to court filings.

The court document did not state a reason for the unidentified woman withdrawing the lawsuit. Combs’ lawyers have said that this dismissal without a settlement confirms that other lawsuits he is facing are built on falsehoods.

“For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by an attorney more focused on media headlines than legal merit. Just like this claim, the others will fall apart because there is no truth to them,” his team said in a statement, adding that Combs “has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor.”
