(NewsNation) – A new civil lawsuit has been filed against jailed hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who awaits trial in New York on federal sex-trafficking charges.

The suit was filed this week by Texas personal injury attorney Tony Buzbee. In it, a John Doe plaintiff claims Diddy sexually assaulted him at a 2015 party in Los Angeles after he was enticed with talk of a potential recording contract.

Doe, then 23, said he was drugged and woke up to a scene of group sex, with Diddy allegedly groping him. Diddy is accused of trying to force him into having sex with a woman, but Doe eventually was able to flee, according to an account of the lawsuit published by Variety this week.

Attorneys for Diddy flatly denied the allegations in a statement provided to the media: “In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor.”

The 55-year-old is currently being held at a Brooklyn jail. Federal prosecutors last year charged him with sex-trafficking and other offenses. Central to the case are allegations that Diddy organized drug-fueled gatherings where victims were coerced into having sex.

Attorney Buzbee has represented plaintiffs in several lawsuits against Diddy and tells the BBC that more legal actions are planned.
