(NewsNation)A top representative for President Trump in the Middle East did not provide many answers Tuesday when pressed about President Trump’s suggestion that the U.S. take control of Gaza.

Morgan Ortagus, the president’s deputy envoy to the Middle East, appeared Tuesday on News Nation’s “On Balance” and was asked who would extricate Hamas before U.S. troops arrived.

“We’ll have a lot of clarity for you in the coming days,” Ortagus said.

Trump suggested displacing millions of Palestinians to clear Gaza for redevelopment. Asked why other Middle East countries would want to take in people who may support Hamas, a terrorist organization, Ortagus noted Saudi Arabia has a program to de-radicalize people.

“This is something that they have worked on for a very long time. They’ve been able to take people who’ve been radicalized and put it through this program. So, there is a model,” she said.
