DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — Daphne Police Department officers have arrested a man who allegedly had 37 pounds of marijuana in a storage unit and his home, News 5 has learned.

40-year-old Quentin Jong Davis was arrested in connection with the incident.

According to a DPD news release, officers received a tip on Dec. 2 that a large amount of marijuana was being kept inside a storage unit in the city.

“While patrol officers were attempting to gain information about the unit’s renter, he arrived and began removing items from the unit,” the release said.

Officials said officers approached Davis as he was loading a suitcase into his van, and when they asked what was in it, he admitted that there was weed in the storage unit and suitcase, News 5 has learned.

Officers executed a search warrant on the storage unit and Davis’ home, leading them to find 37 pounds of weed and $44,000.

Davis is charged with drug trafficking, a class A felony.
