(NewsNation) — Alabama voters are casting their ballots Tuesday in multiple state and federal races.

The state’s seven congressional districts were redrawn after a three-judge panel ruled in favor of redistricting last year. It was considered a win for Black voters, as the judges ruled the state should have two districts where Black voters are the majority or close to it.

Presidential race results in Alabama

Former President Donald Trump is projected to win Alabama.

Balance of Power in Congress

Democrats are fighting to keep control of the U.S. Senate while Republicans are trying to keep their hold on the U.S. House. Either party will need to have at least 51 U.S. Senate seats to have control of the upper chamber and 218 U.S. House seats to have control of the lower chamber of Congress. Track results below:

Alabama US House races

Democrat Shomari Figures is projected to win Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District.

Only four House races are contested in Alabama on Tuesday. 

In the newly redrawn 1st Congressional District, the incumbent Republican Rep. Barry Moore is running for reelection against Democrat Tom Holmes. 

Newcomer Democrat Elizabeth Anderson is challenging incumbent Republican Rep. Gary Palmer in the 6th District.

In the 7th District, the only Democratic incumbent, Rep. Terri Sewell, is seeking reelection against Republican challenger Robin Litaker.

The newly redrawn 2nd District will see newcomers Democrat Shomari Figures and Republican Caroleene Dobson vie for the seat. 

Republican Rep. Mike Rogers is running unopposed in the 3rd District, as is Republican Rep. Robert Aderholt in the 4th and Republican Rep. Dale Strong in the 5th.

Alabama Constitutional Amendment

Voters will decide on one state constitutional amendment, which questions whether the Franklin County Board of Education should be allowed to manage, sell or lease land located within the school system.

On Tuesday, 468 seats in the U.S. Congress (33 Senate seats and all 435 House seats) are up for election. These elections will determine who has control over the two chambers of Congress, and ultimately, who sets the agenda for the next president’s term.

Alabama, typically a red state, will have nine Electoral College votes contributing to the presidential race. The presidential election winner must win 270 electoral votes to assume office.

Absentee voting in Alabama started Sept. 11, and there is no early voting. Polls are open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
