(NewsNation) — Pop star Kesha took aim at Sean “Diddy” Combs during a weekend guest appearance at Coachella, changing the lyrics to her 2010 hit “Tik Tok” to “wake up in the morning like f— P. Diddy.”

The singer and songwriter made a surprise appearance Sunday during “Mean Girls” star Renee Rapp’s set. The lyrical change, punctuated by middle finger from both Rapp and Kesha, drew roaring cheers from the crowd amid an ongoing federal investigation into the rapper and music mogul.

The song famously begins, “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy,” and helped launch Kesha into fame, serving as her first hit single.

Her weekend performance comes on the heels of a federal sweep of Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami properties as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. The rapper also faces a slew of civil lawsuits alleging abuse and sexual assault.

Kesha doubled down on her re-write, later posting the more critical opening line on X.

It’s not the first time she’s changed the line, however. The performer erased Combs’ name from the song during a November show on her Only Love tour, singing “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me,” Variety reported.

That performance came the day after singer Cassie Ventura settled a lawsuit against Combs, whom she accused of physical and sexual abuse.
