Kevin Bohn is an award-winning Senior Assignment Editor in NewsNation’s Washington Bureau.
Bohn joined NewsNation in March 2023 after a 33-year career at CNN as a producer on NewsNation’s key political show “The Hill.” He has overseen the D.C assignment desk since January, 2025, leading assignments for reporters, producers and photographers. He is also an off-air reporter writing stories and breaking news for newsnationnow.com and the NewsNation app.
His career at CNN involved several key roles, including Supervising Producer, Weekend Coverage from 2014 to 2020. In that role, he oversaw planning and editorial coverage of all CNN Washington weekend coverage, which included supervising major parts of reporting on 2020 election, breaking news in first Trump term, Russia/U.S. election investigation.
He was responsible for coverage of major breaking news stories, including summer of 2020 protests, the deaths of President George Herbert Walker Bush, Sen. John McCain and Justice Antonin Scalia, President Trump’s COVID hospitalization and the unveiling of the Iran nuclear deal and subsequent prisoner release.
Bohn won an Emmy for his work as part of the team which covered the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing aftermath and was part of the Peabody-winning political coverage.
